Jean-Michel Van Cottem

Director Legal and Policy, FSMA Belgium

Mr Van Cottem has a Master in Law, Université catholique de Louvain (1981) and an Executive Master in Public Management, Solvay Business School (2001). He started as a lawyer at the Brussels Bar before becoming in 1996 a member of the legal department of the Belgian Banking and Finance Commission. He was appointed deputy Director in 2003 in charge of the supervision of financial information (secondary markets, prospectuses and market abuse) and international relations. In 2011, he became director and head of policy at the Belgian Financial Services and Market Authority. He is now in charge of legal and policy and of international relations.



Sari Granat

Managing Director & Head of Legal, Markit

Ms Granat leads Markit’s global legal function, which handles commercial matters, product development, intellectual property protection, M&A, corporate governance, secretarial and litigation and regulatory matters. Ms Granat also manages Markit’s compliance function and is responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of the firm’s compliance policies as well as training and monitoring programs worldwide. Prior to joining Markit in 2012, Ms Granat was President and Chief Administrative Officer of TheMarkets.com LLC, and has held various senior legal and strategy positions at media and technology companies. She began her legal career as an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLC, and received her JD from New York University School of Law and her BA in English from Yale University.



Simon Puleston Jones

Chief Executive Officer, FIA Europe

Mr Puleston Jones is the new CEO of FIA Europe (formerly the FOA). Previously he headed the European legal coverage for futures and OTC Clearing for Barclays and was one of the lead lawyers dealing with regulatory change. He was also previously Chair of the FOA’s Legal Working Group and led much of the FOA’s regulator engagement in Europe on the legal side with respect to EMIR implementation issues.



Anna Lærke Kraft

Deputy Financial Inspector, Finanstilsynet, Denmark

Ms Lærke Kraft is a deputy financial inspector in the Securities Division at the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority, where she works on post-trading and secondary markets issues. The focus of her work is on supervision of CCPs. She is currently a member of the EBA Taskforce on Market Infrastructures, and has previously represented the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority in the ESMA Post-trading Standing Committee and the ESMA Taskforce on CSDs.
